Journey with Hope

Following Jesus is not self-improvement; it is surrender. When He says “take up your cross,” He calls us to daily die to self so we can truly live in Him. Freed from sin’s slavery and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we no longer live for ourselves but for God and others. Are we dying daily so Christ may live through us? “To live is Christ, to die is gain.”

As a child I sang the old hymn “Make Me a Channel of Blessing.” Instead of always asking God to bless us, what if we prayed, “Make me a channel of blessing to others”? The living water Jesus promised in John 7:38 is the Holy Spirit — not given so we can keep Him to ourselves, but so we can bless others. God blesses us so we can be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). The Holy Spirit empowers us to serve, show His love, and draw people to Christ. Let the rivers flow through you today.
