Why does God discipline His people, and what does it actually look like? From Israel’s repeated failures in Judges to modern idols that quietly take God’s place in our lives, Scripture shows a consistent pattern: God does not abandon His people, He restores them. Discipline is not vengeful wrath but correction that leads back to life, holiness, and fellowship with Him. Sin brings real consequences, but God’s goal is always restoration, not destruction.

What does it really mean to abide in Christ? In Gospel of John 15, Jesus compares believers to branches connected to a vine. A branch cannot bear fruit on its own; it must remain in the vine. In the same way, our spiritual life depends on staying connected to Him through His Word and obedience. God prunes His people, sometimes through hardship, so they can grow stronger and produce lasting spiritual fruit that glorifies Him.
