In Haggai 1, God told His people to “consider carefully your ways.” They had put off rebuilding His temple while taking care of their own homes and comfort. It is easy to put off what God asks of us, whether from busyness, fear, or our own priorities. Are we neglecting something God has called us to do? When we turn back to Him, we can trust His promise: “I am with you.”
Jesus tells a story about two sons: one says no but changes his mind and obeys, while the other says yes but never does what his father asks. Which one are we? The parable challenges us to examine whether our faith is only something we profess or something that changes how we live. Repentance turns us from disobedience toward obedience to God.
Many Christians spend years waiting for a special sign, a unique calling, or an audible voice from God. But what if God's will is not nearly as mysterious as we think? Christ has already called us to love, obey, serve, forgive, and share the gospel. The question is not whether God is calling us. The question is whether we are willing to obey the call we have already received.
