The fig tree appears throughout Scripture as a symbol of faithfulness—or the lack of it. Jesus used the parable of the barren fig tree to warn that God is patient, but He expects His people to bear fruit. Leaves alone are not enough. True faith produces love, obedience, and repentance. The question the fig tree raises for all of us is simple: are we merely showing leaves, or is our life producing real spiritual fruit?
